The Schmidt-Nagel Homeopathic Laboratory PLC  The Schmidt-Nagel laboratory was set up in 1927 as the result of a passion for homeopathy shared by Doctor Pierre Schmidt, one of the most prominent Swiss homeopaths at the beginning of the century, and his pharmacist wife, Dora Nagel.

The couple were thoroughly familiar with the works of Hahnemann, Korsakov and Kent, and from the very start worked to perfect the manufacture of remedies in an attempt to give credibility to a branch of medicine that was still being widely criticised at that time.

Thus the Schmidt-Nagel laboratory dismissed the idea of standardised industrial homeopathic preparations and has always produced very high-quality energising therapeutic remedies complying with the very strict protocols developed by its founders.

Resisting the diverging ways of thinking that plagued homeopathic medicine, Schmidt-Nagel remained true to the classic Hahnemann approach, manufacturing his remedies on a cottage-industry scale and respecting the good manufacturing practices applied in our domain of activity. These criteria are essential for obtaining a high-quality homeopathic remedy.

The effectiveness of a homeopathic remedy depends on the core substance used to make up the dilutions (strain). This must be selected according to criteria of quality (for example, plants must not show any trace of pollution or insecticide).

The dilutions are made up in small quantities in 10ml flasks. This operation is followed by potentiation, which is essential for energising the remedy.

Impregnation is an important stage, as all the information contained in the impregnation liquid will be passed on to the granules.

This stage must guarantee that all the granules are thoroughly impregnated. We can check this using methylene blue.

This stage must also guarantee that the granules have not been contaminated by another impregnation liquid.

This is why we work in small quantities in disposable racks. Our maximum impregnation load is 50 grams.

Schmidt-Nagel's small-scale production avoids problems of cross-contamination of energy, guaranteeing a remedy of absolute purity.

The product is packaged and labelled by hand in an environment that complies with good manufacturing practice.

Homeopathy has proved its worth since the 19th century.

It is a golden rule in homeopathy that a remedy that has been correctly chosen takes effect immediately.
